Configuring AtGuard Personal Firewall for LapLink Connections - Search Again

SUMMARY

I want to connect over the Internet using LapLink, but one of my computers has a AtGuard firewall. How can I change the firewall so that only LapLink connections can get through?

SOLUTION

When you install AtGuard firewall, all access through the firewall is blocked. In order to successfully connect with LapLink you need to modify the firewall settings.

AtGuard's Firewall RuleAssistant will prompt you to create a rule several different times. Each time it presents the RuleAssistant, you have four choices. We recommend that you select Always Permit This Network Connection.

Here are the settings we recommend when prompted to create a rule for:

Inbound UDP attempt:
Apply to LapLink Gold Core Component
Only this service, domain port
Address
Change the name of the Rule to LapLink

Outbound TCP/IP, LDAP attempt:
Applies to LapLink Gold Core Component
Only this service, LDAP port 389
Address ils.laplink.com
Change the name of the Rule to LapLink

Outbound UDP network connection attempt:
Applies to LapLink Gold Core Component
Only this service, port 1547
Any address
Change the name of the Rule to LapLink

Outbound TCP/IP network connection attempt:
Applies to LapLink Gold Core Component
Only this service, port 1547
Any address
Change the name of the Rule to LapLink
