Error Message: You are not Authorized to Use This Computer. This Computer is Configured as a Private System. - Search Again

SUMMARY

When trying to connect to the host computer, I got a message that reads You are not authorized to use this computer. This computer is configured as a private system. What does this mean?

SOLUTION

The host machine’s current security settings will not allow a LapLink session to be opened; therefore, the security settings must be modified. Security on the host machine must be set to either Anybody (Public System) or Log-in List Only (Protected System).

See Technical Document 112, How Do I Modify the Security Features in LapLink? for detailed information about LapLink's security features.

Note: If you have recently upgraded to LapLink 2000 or LapLink Gold, changes have been made that affect the way the security settings work with older versions of LapLink. See Technical Document 33, Changes to Passwords in LapLink 2000 and LapLink Gold for more information.
