Anybody (Public System) Security Settings Aren't Saved - Search Again

SUMMARY

I have set my security in LapLink to Anybody (Public System). When I try to select the services users are allowed when connecting to me the new settings don't stay. Instead, they revert to the defaults. How do I get my choices to stay?

SOLUTION

The workaround to this problem is simply to initialize a Log-In List. Once this file is initialized, even if it is not used, any changes outside of the defaults for the Public System security settings will be saved.

To initialize this file, follow these steps:

  1. From LapLink's Options menu, click Security.

  2. Click Log-In List Only (Protected System), then click Apply.

  3. Click Anybody (Public System), then click Apply.

  4. Click Public Privileges.

  5. Change any settings as desired, then click OK to return to the Security Options dialogue.

  6. Click Public Privileges again to confirm that your changes have now been saved.
