How to Redirect Printing for DOS Applications - Search Again

SUMMARY

I want to use Print Redirection for a DOS-based application. How do I set this up?

SOLUTION

Print Redirection in LapLink applications is possible only for Windows-based applications. Redirecting print for DOS applications is not directly supported.

If the DOS application allows you to save the item to be printed as a file, you may be able to print your DOS item using a Windows-based application instead:

  1. Open your DOS application and bring up the item you wish to print.

  2. Print the item as a FILE (check your DOS application User Manual as to how to best do this).

  3. Close the DOS application.

  4. Open a comparable Windows application (word processor, database, spreadsheet, etc.).

  5. Import or open the previously printed DOS file into the Windows application.

  6. Print using the LapLink Redirected Printer.
