Error Message: Connect to SCM16.DLL failed. One of setup's required files or their components is not installed. - Search Again

SUMMARY

I am trying to install LapLink and get this error message. How do I fix this?

CAUSE

The Windows environment is missing a driver.

SOLUTION

1. From the Windows Start menu, click Run.


2. In the Open field, type SYSTEM.INI and click OK.


3. In the [boot] section of the file, add/edit this line:

drivers=mmsystem.dll

4. Close Notepad and save your changes.


5. Reboot Windows and reinstall LapLink.
