Error Message: _INS0432_MP.exe has Performed an Illegal Operation
- Search Again SUMMARY I am trying to install LapLink gets this error during the file decompression. What can I do to solve the problem? CAUSE There are several possible causes. Most frequently, another program that uses InstallShield left remnants of the installation program in the Windows temporary directories. SOLUTION Each possible solution is listed with a bullet. Try each solution independent of the others.
- Clear out temporary folders and files from the TEMP and TMP directories
- Using Windows Explorer, locate the TEMP folders and delete their contents. Some files may give an 'access denied' message. Skip these and delete everything else.
Note: You will find TEMP or TMP folders in the Windows folder and C:\.
- Reboot the computer.
- Try reinstalling LapLink.
- Change the application folder for LapLink
- During installation, change the folder that LapLink installs.
- Click the Change button and type C:\LapLink .
- If you're upgrading from LapLink 2000, or have NetMeeting installed on your computer
- From the Windows Start menu, go to Programs, point to LapLink 2000 and click Uninstall.
- Follow the steps on your screen.
- Using Search, Files and Folders, locate ILSCORE.DLL and ILS.DLL
.
- In the search results window, right-click each file name and click Delete.
- Reinstall LapLink from the CD-ROM.
- If all other suggestions have failed, and Windows 2000 is an upgrade from an earlier Windows version, reinstall Windows 2000. Contact your computer manufacturer or Microsoft for assistance
Note: If given the option, choose a Repair installation of Windows 2000.
