SUMMARY

Are there any special instructions for installing the PCsync gold USB Network cable driver on my Windows 2000 computer?

SOLUTION

When installing the new gold USB Network cable on a Windows 2000 computer, follow these steps:

Note: If you installed the USB Network cable drivers when you installed PCsync skip to the section Add New Hardware Wizard.

Install the USB Network Adapter

  1. Insert the PCsync 2.0 CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive or run Welcome.exe if you've downloaded PCsync.

  2. Click Set Up cables.

  3. Click Install the USB Network drivers now.

  4. Click Yes to two messages referring to digital signatures.

  5. When the driver is installed, plug in the USB Network cable.

When the Gold USB Network cable is plugged in the Add New Hardware wizard starts.

Add New Hardware Wizard
  1. Click Next.

  2. Click Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended).

  3. Check the box Specify a location, then click Next.

  4. Click the Browse button and find the folder C:\Program Files\PCsync.

  5. Click OK, then Next.

  6. Click Finish.

PCsync is ready to make a USB connection. When PCsync is running on both computers it automatically connects with the other machine.

Note: If this does not occur, go to the Options menu, click Port Status, and confirm the USB Port and Automatically connect at startup boxes are checked. Close and restart PCsync.
