LapLink Does Not Answer an Infrared Modem - Search Again

SUMMARY

I have an Infrared modem installed on my machine. LapLink will not answer the call when I dial. Why can I not connect?

SOLUTION

LapLink expects a modem to be TAPI-compliant, meaning that Windows communications with the modem via the Telephonic Application Interface. Infrared modems communicate differently, by using the IrDA (Infrared Data Association) device drivers instead.

You will need to use a TAPI-compliant modem in order to connect with LapLink.
