Synchronizing a Single File with a LapLink Xchange Agent - Search Again

SUMMARY

I want to synchronize a single file with my Xchange Agent. However, I can only select folders. What can I do?

CAUSE

Xchange Agent is designed to synchronize folders, not files. Using a filter, however, will modify the Xchange Agent to see, and therefore copy, only the file that matches the filter.

SOLUTION

To create a filter, follow these steps:

  1. Open an existing Xchange Agent, or use the Xchange Agent wizard to create a new agent.

  2. Highlight the folder pair, and go to Edit and click Set Filter.

  3. If the filter already exists in the left column, select it and click Add.

  4. If you want to create your own filter, click New and type in the name of the file.

  5. Note: For more options, click the Help button.
