Files Don't Appear to be Transferred when Using PCsync's SmartXchange - Search Again

SUMMARY

I use SmartXchange to transfer files to another location. The Progress dialog seems to show that the files are transferred, but when I look for the files after the copy is complete they are missing. What can I do?

SOLUTION

This occurs if the target drive or folder has Read-only permissions.

If the target drive or folder is on one of your computers (for example, if you are transferring over a cable connection), follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the PCsync connection, and shut down PCsync.

  2. Using Windows Explorer, change the Properties of the drive or folder to Read/Write/Change.

  3. Restart PCsync and reconnect.

  4. Try the SmartXchange again.

If the you've connected to a Remote Shared Folder on a friend's computer, contact that person and request that they follow these steps.
