Interrupted File Transfers Leave Partial Files on Target Computer - Search Again

SUMMARY

I connect with PCsync to transfer files to another computer. If my file transfer gets interrupted (for any reason), I've noticed that a partial file stays on the target computer. Why doesn't the partial file get removed?

SOLUTION

Solution: This is a known problem and our engineers are looking into possible solutions.

The workaround to this problem is to reestablish the connection and recopy.

To confirm that the file was not transferred completely, here's the steps:

  1. Click to highlight the file in the PCsync list pane.

  2. Click the View menu, and click Details

  3. Click to highlight the file in the MyComputer list pane.

  4. Click the View menu, and click Details

  5. Look at the size in KB of each file in the Size column. If the file on the target computer (where the file was copied to) is smaller, the file was not completely transferred.

To recopy the file, here's the steps:

Drag the file from the source to the target
When prompted to overwrite the existing file, click Yes.
