Upgrading to Windows 2000 - Search Again

SUMMARY

I'm planning to upgrade to Windows 2000 in the near future. How will this impact using LapLink?

SOLUTION

LapLink 2000, LapLink Gold and PCsync are fully compatible with Windows 2000. Older versions, such as LapLink 95/NT, LapLink Professional and LapLink Technical are not compatible and should not be used with Windows 2000.

Note: Parallel connections in Laplink are not available in Windows 2000.

Note: To successfully use LapLink on a Windows 2000 computer, visit our How to Buy section of the web site to download an upgrade. The serial number from your current version of LapLink is required to be eligible for upgrade pricing.

Before upgrading to Windows 2000, you will need to remove all versions of LapLink from your computer. Personalized LapLink settings are retained, but you may want to copy them down prior to uninstalling.

For more information about upgrading from Windows NT, see Technical Document 40, LapLink Must be Uninstalled when Upgrading from Windows NT to Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

For more information about upgrading from Windows 95 or 98, see Technical Document 46, LapLink 2000 Must be Reinstalled after Upgrading to Windows 2000 from Windows 95 or 98.
