LapLink 2000 or LapLink Gold Must be Reinstalled after Upgrading to Windows 2000 from Windows 95 or 98 - Search Again SUMMARY I have LapLink installed on my Windows 95 or 98 computer, and I'm upgrading to Windows 2000. During the upgrade, everything seemed to be fine. Now when I start LapLink, I receive an error that says the remote control components aren't installed and that I must reinstall. What do I do? SOLUTION When LapLink runs in Windows 2000, mouse and keyboard drivers are required. These files are not required when LapLink runs in Windows 95 or 98 and are therefore not copied to the hard drive during setup. After upgrading, Windows 2000 now requires these files but they are missing.
Uninstall, then reinstall LapLink 2000 or LapLink Gold. The setup program will detect Windows 2000 and copy the files to the hard drive.
