PCsync does not Enable a COM Port
- Search Again SUMMARY I am trying to connect PCsync with the blue serial cable. When I enable the COM port, the port does not stayed checked. What can I do?
SOLUTION - Enable the serial port in the computer BIOS. Restart your computer and use the keyboard command listed in your computer's user guide to reach the hardware setup utility. Do this on both computers
- Check that the serial cable network adapter was installed correctly. Do this on both computers.
For computers running Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows Millennium
- From the Windows Start menu, go to Run , type WINIPCFG and click OK.
- At the top of this dialog, click the down arrow in the drop down box and look for the LapLink Cable Adapter.

For computers running Windows NT
- From the Windows Start menu, go to Run, type CMD and click OK.
- At the C:\ prompt, type IPCONFIG /ALL and press Enter.
- Look for the section regarding the Ethernet Adapter LLCMINI.

For computers running Windows 2000
- Right-click My Network Places and click Properties.
- Determine the Local Area Connection that is the LapLink Serial Cable Network Adapter. Remember the number.

- From the Windows Start menu, go to Run, type CMD and click OK.
- At the C:\ prompt, type IPCONFIG /ALL and press Enter.
- Look for the section regarding the Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection for the LapLink Serial Cable Network Adapter (the number you found in Step 2).
