COM Ports will not Enable on a ThinkPad Machine Running Windows 2000 - Search Again

 

SUMMARY

I have a ThinkPad that is running Windows 2000 and I would like to use LapLink. I'm unable to get connected with the blue serial cable because it tells me that the COM1 is Unavailable. Can you help me?

 

SOLUTION

LapLink customers who have a ThinkPad 600x, 600e, 770z, 770x, A20P, A20M, T20, 240 390e, 390x or 1720 will experience this problem until the system is configured properly. Please click on your ThinkPad model for the solution.
