Initial Accuracy of Magellan Units:
The following graphic first shows SA Watch's expanded line graph.  The top of the line graph represents 4 meters of error with dotted lines for 3, 2, and 1m.  At the right is the scale of the number of satellites (gray) being tracked.

At 15:15 UTC, the unit was cycled off and then back on.  At first the error is as much as 13m (scale upper right) and the error is off scale in the line graph.  At about 15:25, the error is decreasing from 4m (green line) and settles out at a little less than  3m at  15:30.  These tests were under moderate tree cover and show that at least 10 minutes is required for receivers to obtain enough WAAS corrections to display relatively accurate position.  This delay is present in all WAAS units we have evaluated.
