LapLink Must be Uninstalled when Upgrading from Windows NT to Windows 2000 or Windows XP - Search Again

SUMMARY

I have LapLink installed on my Windows NT computer, and I'm upgrading Windows. During the upgrade, I get an error message that says LapLink is not compatible with Windows and that I must uninstall it. The upgrade stops. What do I do?

CAUSE

The reason for the error message is LapLink uses system drivers specific to NT4. The Windows upgrade detects this.

SOLUTION

  1. Uninstall LapLink and reboot the computer.

  2. Finish the upgrade to Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

  3. Reinstall LapLink 2000 or LapLink Gold. The LapLink setup program will detect the correct version of Windows and install the appropriate LapLink system drivers.
